Lighten Up, Wolfpack!

(RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA) – With daylight savings time ending on Sunday, November 7, the days are getting shorter and the commute will be a little darker.  The Transportation Department and the Wolftrails program is encouraging all Wolfpackers to lighten up!

Lighten Up, Wolfpack is NC State’s version of the annual Lighten Up, Raleigh safety campaign brought to you by Commute Smart Raleigh.  The program highlights ways to stay safe this winter, encouraging individuals to be visible by wearing reflective clothing or carrying a flashlight during your commute.

Also, if you ride a bike when it’s dark out, be sure to have a front light that is visible from 300 feet and a red rear light or reflective clothing that can be seen from 300 feet.

We will be passing out bike lights, while supplies last, at the Hunt Library (Nov. 4 from 2-4pm) and Talley Student Union (Nov. 8 from 11am-1pm).  Stop by and see us to pick up a light and stay visible while, walking, biking or waiting at a bus stop this winter.

Please contact the Wolftrails Program Manager, Carolyn Caggia at ncsu-wolftrails@ncsu.edu with any questions.
