Annual Bikes on the Bricks Event is Scheduled for August 21

Join us from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a day filled with bike-themed fun and activities. Bring your bike and take advantage of free safety check-ups, bike registration, and the chance to win exciting prizes. Don’t miss the opportunity to explore our vendors and learn more about the participating departments and organizations.

Below are the vendors and departments confirmed to be in attendance.

Bike Library

The Bike Library is the only trailside rental shop within Raleigh’s expansive greenway network. Nestled between the Walnut Creek Trail and Lake Raleigh, it’s a perfect summer destination in the city. Open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, they have bikes to rent, locally made refreshments, and a shady spot to relax by the water.

Black Girls Do Bike

Our interest is in growing and supporting a community of women of color who share a passion for cycling. We champion efforts to introduce the joy of cycling to all women, especially women and girls of color. 

Commute Smart Raleigh

Commute Smart Raleigh offers easy solutions to alleviate traffic congestion and employee stress by moving more people in fewer vehicles. Commute Smart Consultants provides advice and assistance on increasing the use of various transportation options.

Conte’s Bike Shop

Conte’s Bike Shop has a rich history, and we’re proud to be dedicated to serving and improving the many local communities where we now reside. Learn more about our company roots, and thank you for your continued support!

East Coast Electric Speed Shop

We work on pretty much anything and will keep our customers riding. We’ll work with our customers to do whatever it takes to get them back on the road. We’ll help them fix anything that could go wrong, make upgrades/improvements along the way, and help them proactively maintain their vehicles.

GoTriangle

GoTriangle provides public transportation in a region experiencing rapid growth and demographic change. The public has entrusted us with delivering the highest-quality services and infrastructure to match increased community expectations regarding public transportation.

NC State Cycling Club

The NC State Cycling Club is a recreational sports club at NC State University. As such, membership is open to students, faculty, and staff at NC State. This is for membership. To participate in collegiate racing, the member must be a full-time or part-time student. The team is also a member of the USCF and NORBA. In any of these events, all members of the team may race with the team affiliation of the NC State Cycling team.

Oak City Cycling

A local, independent cycling shop in Downtown Raleigh, NC, focused on increasing bicycling ridership through sales, service, outreach, and community.

Oaks & Spokes

Oaks and Spokes is an advocacy organization on a mission to make the City of Oaks the City of Spokes. We believe that people-powered places are the future and that a sustainable and equitable transportation model is urgently needed for our community to grow in the best way possible.

NC State Wellness and Recreation Outdoor Adventures

Outdoor Adventures Equipment Rental Center, located in the first-floor lobby of Wellness and Recreation Center South, is where users will find outdoor recreation and lawn game equipment.

Spin

Headquartered in San Francisco, Spin is one of the leading micromobility companies. We operate dockless electric scooters on campuses and in cities across North America and Europe. Spin has been recognized for launching the first stationless mobility program in the United States and crafting the world’s first mobility permit system.

NC State Sustainability

The NC State University Sustainability Office was established in April 2008 to serve as a centralized resource for sustainability information and action for students, faculty, and staff. Current responsibilities of the University Sustainability Office and its staff include Planning and Partnerships, Student Success, and Communication and Engagement.

NC State Transportation

Transportation will provide exceptional and professional services by challenging and empowering our staff to continuously improve systems, processes, and procedures.  As a department and as individuals, we will establish ourselves as integral and contributing members of the University who continually strive to meet our community’s dynamic and diverse transportation needs.

WolfTrails

NC State students and employees who commute to campus by bus, bicycling, walking, carpooling, or vanpooling can get commuter benefits through WolfTrails. WolfTrails members receive a free parking benefit: 24 free virtual passes per year for employees and 6 per semester for students.
