FALL 2026 MOVE-IN: 8/13/26 – 8/16/26

Every Fall, we look forward to welcoming home new and returning students to the Pack. Below are guidelines to assist parents and students with parking as they move into the residence halls. Locate your residence hall and print an information sheet with directions to the designated parking area and free long-term parking locations.

Early Move-In

Students and family members may park in residential parking zones with a temporary move-in loading permit. Please register your license plate online for a temporary loading pass using the steps below. Registering for a loading pass during move-in will allow you to park temporarily in residential zones adjacent to University Housing buildings or in specifically reserved move-in loading zones. Students may unload their vehicles in dedicated move-in loading areas for two hours.

How To Obtain Your Move-In Loading Pass

• Visit the Early Move-In Loading Pass page.*
• Enter your license plate number and the state.
• Click Add.

*You cannot claim this pass early. You must complete this form at the time it is needed. The pass is valid for two hours.

Remember, the permit is virtual; your license plate is your permit. The permit is valid only for the vehicle entered. It is not valid in pay-by-plate locations.\

Are you driving a rental car? If so, please wait to obtain your parking permit until after you have received your rental car. Vehicle license plates cannot be changed once entered. You must obtain your parking permit before leaving your vehicle unattended on campus. For assistance obtaining your permit, please call the Transportation Office at 919-515-3424 and select option 5.
