GoPass
Here are some important updates about the GoPass.
- GoTriangle returned to fare collection on July 1, 2024.
- GoRaleigh is returning to fare collection effective September 1, 2024.
What is GoPass?
- GoPass is a bus pass allowing the NC State community to ride GoRaleigh and GoTriangle buses at no cost.
- A GoPass is not needed to ride GoCary, GoDurham and Chapel Hill Transit because they are still fare-free.
- NC State faculty, staff and students can request a GoPass at no cost using an active NC State email address.
- The pass is non-transferable.
- The GoPass will be deactivated when a faculty member, staff member or student separates from the university.
How do I get a GoPass?
- Click here to request your GoPass!
- You must log in with your Unity ID.
- The pass is valid until June 30 and must be renewed annually.
How do I use my GoPass?
- Download the Umo Mobility app (Android or iOS).
- Select GoTriangle as your location.
- Create an account using your NC State email address.
- Check your email and click the email verification link.
- Select “Redeem Benefit Code” in the app’s main menu.
- Enter the code you received when you requested the GoPass.
- If you continue to see the old GOT prefix, please refresh the Umo environment to see the new GO prefix. The old GOT-prefixed codes will no longer work.
- To use your GoPass, select “Code” in the app and scan the QR code as you board the bus.
- If you do not have a smartphone, email WolfTrails to request a physical card.
- If you have issues with the UMO Mobility app, please call 919-485-RIDE (7433).
Local Transit
GoRaleigh, the City of Raleigh’s public transit service, offers city-wide bus service.
NC State is served by the following GoRaleigh routes:
The R-Line service returned on May 5, 2024.

Regional Transit
GoTriangle provides regional bus service to NC State from Raleigh, Cary, Apex, Durham, Chapel Hill, Wake Forest, Zebulon, Wendell, and many more.
NC State is served by the following GoTriangle routes:
- Route 100: Raleigh (Hillsborough St.) to RDU Airport and the Regional Transit Center (RTC) – near RTP
- Routes 300: Downtown Cary to downtown Raleigh via Western Boulevard.
- Route 305: Downtown Raleigh to Holly Spring and Apex via Western Boulevard.
- Route DRX: Express service between Raleigh and Durham via Hillsborough St.
- Route CRX: Express service between Raleigh and Chapel Hill via Hillsborough St.

Transit Resources
Passio Go Real-Time Passenger Information
Passio Go provides real-time bus information for all Wolfline routes. See the bus move in real-time and get estimated bus stop arrival predictions. Download the app in the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. You can also view it on your computer using their browser version.
Amtrak
The Piedmont and Carolinian rail routes will take you from Raleigh to Charlotte, Greensboro, High Point, Richmond, New York, and Washington, D.C. Students can save 15% on a regular (full) adult rail fare. Check out Amtrak’s Student Discounts page for more information. To find the closest station, visit the Amtrak website.
Google Maps
Plan your next bus trip with Google Transit by running directions in Google Maps and choosing the transit icon. Google will show you a map of the transit trip, as well as the physical location of your origin/destination bus stops.
Megabus
Megabus connections are available to Fayetteville, Florence, SC, Columbia, SC, Augusta, GA, and Atlanta. The Megabus website provides directions to the Southeastern Stages Bus Stop at Raleigh and price information.
