UPDATE: With inclement weather in the forecast for this weekend, January 21-23, this project is now scheduled to start on Monday, January 24, weather dependent. It will take 4-5 weeks to complete.
Work will be done in the Nelson South Lot, Nelson West Lot and the Brooks Avenue Lot to bring the ADA ramps into compliance, align the crosswalks and relabel spaces.
The project will be broken up into 2 phases.
Phase 1: ADA Ramp Compliance
At the Northeast corner of the Nelson South Lot, the existing ramp will be demolished and rebuilt. This will require 2 ADA spaces to be taken offline for about a week. In the short term, one of these spaces will be moved to the Nelson West Lot in an existing space next to the dedicated hashed out area that is currently not labeled. We will keep this space labeled as an ADA space until all phases are complete.
Phase 2: Brooks Avenue Lot Grinding and Striping
The existing spaces, crosswalk and stop bar will be grinded out and replaced. In addition, concrete work must be done to properly align the repositioned ADA ramps and crosswalks. Once work begins in this lot, the AS 137 space will be temporarily relocated to the Nelson West Lot. In addition to the AS space, 8 other spaces including 4 ADA spaces, will be taken offline for about 6 business days.
This project will start on January 18 and finish at or around February 14.
