Bike Racks Added to Cates Avenue

In an effort to accommodate as many students that ride a bike or scooter to Carmichael, Talley and Case, additional bike racks have been added by the Price Music Center, Carmichael Gym, Talley Student Union (by Starbucks) and Case Dining Hall.

This is a result of feedback received as well as observations of where bikes and scooters are secured.

Bikes and scooters are popular options used by students to navigate campus and we want to make sure they have a convenient location to secure their vehicles, but at the same time not create a safety hazard or create any accessibility issues.

Bikes and scooters should never be attached to a railing or handrail, in front of an emergency light or in any location that will block a pathway of ingress or egress. Doing this creates a safety hazard as well as raises accessibility concerns. All pathways must be kept clear of obstructions.
