Summary of Transportation Updates Effective July 1, 2023

The Transportation Department has been busy this summer and we wanted to give a quick summary of the updates that will become effective July 1, 2023.

• Every year the Transportation Department reviews the ordinances and recommends changes for clarification and to improve our efficiency and effectiveness. Here are those updates.
  • 2023-2024 Parking and Transportation Policy Updates
• Employee permits will transition to non-expiring when the current permit expires on June 30. Don’t forget to renew.
  • Employee Non-expiring Permits
• If you own a 2011-2022 Kia or Hyundai vehicle, stop by the University Police or Transportation Department to pick up a free steering wheel lock, while supplies last.
  • University Police Offering Steering Wheel Locks for Hyundai and Kia Vehicles
• GoRaleigh and GoTriangle will be fare-free until June 30, 2024.

• There has been an increase in the price of a front license plate due to the cost of materials.
